Dispersion of One Iron, Fall Bred Cows
82 head — 3-4 years old
22 head — 5-6 year old
10 head — solid mouth cows
August/September calving red and black cows bred to Angus bulls.
Home-raised females from an 800-900 head ranch that retains ownership and finishes every calf they raise.
The ranch maintains both spring and fall calving herds.
The spring herd is exposed for just 45 days then the cows are exposed once more to be in the fall program.
The majority of this dispersion successfully raised a fall calf last year and bred back on time.
The maternal program has always emphasized fertility, moderate frame size,
easy-keeping ability, sound udders, and good disposition.
These are the kind of cows built to stay in the herd for a long time.
